the book
by s 12/4/2006 @ 10:49:48 PM
Just from reading the excerpts one can see clearly that the author has deep rooted issues he needs to deal with through counseling. I am assuming from his self disclosue at the beginning of the Busta test that he is bi-racial and identifies with the African American side of him. Hopefully he is not passing his issues onto the next generation (his children) and he is not harming his relationship with his wife as a result of his desire to express these issues to the general public. I wonder how African American truly educated experts or activists would receive this book.

Excellent read - I truly enjoyed your book Mr. Wooten. You covered alot of territory. And sometimes you think it's just "you" being inpacted with what's happening on a daily basis. Can't wait for Volume II - When will it be out? Barbara

Todd you are 50% white. Did you forget this detail? The slamming you are doing to the white folks, in reality is one half of the whole part of you. You can not be taken seriously, nor can your book :)
shades of ignorance
by bootsy 1/10/2007 @ 9:04:05 PM
Just cruising thru this unbelievable website, the interactive page is unreal, and then I stumbled on the feedback page and found two comments slammin' the author for being bi-racial. As a bi-racial black man I found those comments very ignorant and pretty clueless. Do white people really believe that bi-racial people can't criticize them because that amounts to self-criticism? How fucking clueless can you be? You are what society designates you to be. I'm quite sure the author still gets followed in stores and has still been called nigger. Do you really think being bi-racial exempts you from being denied opportunites or being degraded? NO!!! The author is black because America makes racial designations. Unless he's so light-skinned that he can deny his blackness, America has made the designation for him. But this guy is proud of who he is, and if you think he's slammin' himself, then you didn't look at the book's cover very closely. When you look at that red star on the book's cover, I'd say he's slammin you George. At least you took it that way based on your response. Tiger Woods is bi-racial, and his good friend Charles Barkley once reminded him that: Thai people don't get hate mail, Black people do. I've seen a few Tiger interviews that more than confirms this. The author is black regardless of his racial make-up because whites created the one-drop rule, and whites judge people and categorize people according to skin color. He's not slammin' the white half, he's embracing the black half that white america has bestowed upon him. I've read his book and I think what troubles whites is the fact the he has used his contacts in the white world, friends & family, to expose America's hypocrisy. Nothing pisses people off more than to play cards with someone that knows every card in the other's guy hand. By being bi-racial he knows every card in white folks hands, but they'll never know what cards he has in his hand because they'll never feel the sting of being followed in stores, or denied opportunities, or degraded based solely on skin color. Being bi-racial in America never stopped mulattos from being slaves, and will never stop the author from being called nigger. So I suggest you revisit the books cover if you think he's putting himself down, or needs psychological help, because to me, I see nothing but black & proud on the cover. I also suggest you check out the author's blog, White Men Have a 3rd Eye, on the front page, for a detailed explanation of the books title and cover. Ignorance comes in many shades, and bi-racial isn't one of them.

I find it absolutely amazing that the people who are slamming the author here, have yet to actually read his book. Yet I am not surprised at the level of stupidity. Racism and bigotry are separate, yet intertwined, and ALL are guilty of one or the other at some level. (If you don’t know the difference, buy a dictionary and look it up.)The ignorant pass judgment without knowledge. Unfortunately, a lot of these people are our cultural, media and elected leaders. This is a social commentary book people. Read it, and then debate. Or just go get yourself a sports car.

My, my, my. I haven't seen a waxin' that good since the last snapshots of Britney's beave as she climbed out of Paris's car. Bootsy baby, don't you think you were just a tad ruff on George. I've read both books and obviously S and George haven't. The part of the Busta Test that S is referring to has nothing to do with the author. He was referring to the fact that he was raised by his Grandparents. If you had read the book before you made a comment, you wouldn't have wasted space making an uninformed comment. After reading the book, it's quite apparent that the chapter excerpts are nothing but teasers to pique one's curiosity. They make up a fraction of the book, and unlike movie trailers, they are far from the best lines of the book. George, George, my poooor misguided George. You probably didn't plan on reading the book anyway, because your misguided comment is also directly about the author. George you may not have realized this little fact, but most black people in America don't look like they just stumbled out of Sudan. Most blacks in America come in countless shades and complexions. That's due to years of black female slaves being raped. George, are you saying that the only blacks in America who are allowed to be critical of whites are black people who look like Wesley Snipes or Whoopi Goldberg? Are you saying that any black person lighter than Wesley or Whoppi is not allowed to be critical of whites, because that would be criticizing one's self? George, any black person lighter than Wesley or Whoopi, has probably got some of Master's blood runnin' thru their veins. Actually, you make a good point George. Most black folks should not criticize whites because they'd just be criticizing the part of their heritage that was produced thru RAPE. Good point George, because who wants to rehash history. George, you're obviously in the dark when it comes to race in America, no pun intended. I'm actually surprised you didn’t further enlighten us with something equally thought provoking, like all black people eat fried chicken and watermelon. OOOOOOOh. My, my, my. I haven't seen a waxin' that good since the last snapshots of Britney's beave as she climbed out of Paris's car. Bootsy baby, don't you think you were just a tad ruff on George. WHy the perception
by William 6/17/2007 @ 4:45:42 PM
You know why blackmen are percieved negativly? Because of their in general negative behavior. There is no one common denominator that can cover an entire race of people, there are quality African American people of quality of course, just as there are asian, white, hispanic people who are not worth their weight in garbage. However, look at the young male african american icons, the people they idolize. They idolize people like 50 cent and other rappers. These people treat women poorly, care not for the laws, and are all around detrimental to society. Is it any wonder why so many African American you men impregnate and then abandon their "baby's mama"? Of course not. I'm not arguing that it is a biological factor but a social factor. Per capita african americans commit far more crimes than any other race. The fact that popular culture idolizes the evils of some african american individuals disgusts me and makes me think that anyone who indulges or appreciates these socital ills deserves the results of their ignorance. Poverty, fatherless children, and basically a life not worth living.
A WORD FROM THE AUTHOR
by Todd 6/19/2007 @ 10:23:53 AM
As the author of the book “White Men Can’t Hump,” I’ve obviously had to do a lot of explaining about the book’s title which has left very little time for discussion about the book’s content. I had hoped that the ‘chapter excerpts’ page of this web-site, which also contains the book’s Table of Contents, would give enough info to pique one’s interest without giving away the store. The chapter excerpts are nothing more than teasers, period. The games on the ‘interactive’ page are derived from the book, but they to, are nothing more than teasers. I’ve spoken to a number of people who’ve participated in the ‘interactive’ games of this web-site before they actually read the book, and they’ve stated that after reading the book, they’d like to change their votes. THIS WEB-SITE REPRESENTS ABOUT TEN PAGES OF A FIVE HUNDRED PAGE, TWO VOLUME BOOK. You cannot, and will not, fully appreciate any of the chapter excerpts unless you read the book and understand the total context of each excerpt. The ABOVE COMMENT from William, “Why the perception,” is a perfect example of what I’m saying. This gentleman has not read the book, because if he did, he would understand that the negative perceptions of Black Men were ingrained in America’s psyche about 400 years before 50 cent and rap music. Had this gentleman read the book, he would understand that race has nothing to do with being sexually irresponsible. William would have been exposed to the fact that Whites buy their way out of their sexual irresponsibility via abortion, and Blacks encourage young girls to have the baby. William would have read my assertion that if Roe vs. Wade was ever over-turned, there would be a new generation of single mothers in this nation, and they’d be White. Had William read this book, he would have been exposed to the fact that the ‘War on Drugs’ unfairly targets young Black Males, and is the primary reason for the astronomical rate of incarceration in the Black community. America makes up 4 % of the world’s population, but consumes 2/3rds of the worlds illegal drugs. Guess what William? The vast majority of those drug users are White, and they openly visit Black communities to purchase drugs, but are rarely arrested. The people who bring the drugs into our nation are also rarely arrested. We know who’s the primary target in the ‘War on Drugs,’ don’t we William? Black Males are more aggressively investigated, arrested, and sentenced than their White Male criminal counterparts. I’ve yet to find any explanation for the harsher sentencing guidelines for crack cocaine (the drug of choice for Blacks) vs. powder cocaine (the drug of choice for Whites). The truth is drugs sell themselves, and our society would be better served if White Male pedophiles were investigated, arrested, and sentenced with the same aggressiveness and enthusiasm as young Black drug dealers. Had William read the book he’d be forced to acknowledge that filling our prisons with young Black Men, with ridiculous felony drug convictions, has allowed the middle-aged White Male pedophile to walk in and out of jail, and continue to prey on America’s children. This book does not make excuses for the plight of Black America; this book is an equal opportunity offender, and merely explains that Black Folks aren’t the only people screwing up, we’re just the only ones held accountable for our screw ups. This is not one of those “Woe is me, us po Black Folk can’t get a break” books. White Folks always say “Stop whining, Get over it, or Don’t be so sensitive,” so that’s what I did. I wanted to show my readers that all human beings have faults, and by looking at our faults, regardless of race, it paints a very compelling picture. The picture my book paints is that Blacks and Whites have more in common, than not, and when laws are slanted, opportunities are denied, or stereotypes are perpetuated, it divides us. The biggest problem with this book is that the people its meant to educate, Black and White, will never read it.
Racial profiling

What I don't understand is how are you trying to make everyone equal by putting the white community down by saying Whit man can't hump? You can't put one race down to try and talk up another. Did you not listen to Martin Luthor King? I havn't read the book but it doesn't sound like an interesting enough book for me to even take another look at. My father is a born Jamaican and my mother is an American, so I look at both sides respectfully!
Race Comment
by Eddie 1/26/2008 @ 3:30:20 AM
I have not read this interesting sounding book. But being a brown Puerto Rican I think that "racism" has nothing to do with color. I have seen Black ("African") Americans beat the hell out of Haitian and Jamaican Americans. All "Black" men. For me it is a question of Pre-judging, hate for what one does not understand and pure ignorance. I have served in the military many years and grew up in the Bronx N.Y. and if was granted the right to make a generalized statement, I would say that in my 49 years of life I have never met a more "racist" people than Black Americans. I will definetly go out and buy your book cause I am very open minded. Best Wishes for a successful publication.
